Amrita Deb is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Liberal Arts at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India. She is currently serving as the Vice-President of the International Association for the Promotion and Dissemination of Research on Resilience (Resilio). Amrita conducts research in the area of psychological resilience and well-being. She is specifically interested in risk and protective factors that stem from individual, social, and cultural components. Through her work, she attempts to identify the wide range of positive outcomes in the aftermath of adversities such as childhood trauma and mental illness. She enjoys teaching courses on positive psychology and psychological resilience covering the history and background of resilience research and its applicability in the contemporary world
